Chair for Materials Handling, Flow and Logistics (fml), TU München

The working groups of the fml institute focus on the areas of materials handling, materials flow and logistics technology. Common to all working groups are three central areas of activity: the research of new methods of calculation, the development of methods and computer-supported tools for planning, and the further development of technological systems. Projects are carried out in the areas of materials flow and logistics, crane manufacturing, bulk-goods handling and aerial tramway (cable car) technology.

The co-operation with CIM GmbH is centered around user-oriented research in the development of order picking systems and the optimisation of material and information flow using RFID technology. In addition, CIM GmbH provides the PROLAG® World warehouse management system for use in the test hall at the campus in Garching.

dbh Logistics IT AG is an internationally active IT service provider for the transport logistics field. It provides optimised solutions for customs handling, carrier software, fleet management and harbour telematics. dbj employs around 70 people at offices in Bremen, Hamburg, Würzburg and Dresden.

Together with CIM GmbH's warehouse management system, customers receive a complete software application that achieves a better overview of all logistical processes.
