Successful LogiMAT 2010

CIM Messestand

The CIM GmbH presentation “Browsing the warehouse, anytime, anywhere”, showed the advantages of a complete JAVA solution and the new release of the Warehouse Management System PROLAG®World.

Discussions with technology and software enthusiasts, customers and associates of CIM contributed to the success of this year’s LogiMAT participation. Several potential customers used the opportunity to view the live demonstration of the warehouse management system PROLAG®World, experiencing the performance efficiency and flexibility of the system. The entirely configurable billing system aroused substantial interest.

Further focuses of interest were process optimisation and the new PROLAG®World functionality and modules such as the integrated shipping system, the hazardous materials system and the graphical visualisation of the warehouse control.

In his speech “The warehouse of the future thinks for itself” the managing director Fritz Mayr gave an outlook of future developments in warehouse management systems, much of which has already been integrated in the PROLAG®World standard system. “The guarantees a secure investment for our customers”, assured Fritz Mayr. “In all branches, the demand for an innovative and sustainable WMS such as PROLAG®World remains high”.

Betz Logistik & Lagerhaus GmbH implement the warehouse management system PROLAG®World

A decisive factor in favour of PROLAG®World was the scope of features offered by the PROLAG®World standard system, as well as the modular software structure, which allows adaptation to the expanding needs of the logistics service provider.

The Betz Logistik & Lagerhaus GmbH provides the complete spectrum of logistics services to customers in the automobile, food and pharmaceutical branches. These services range from the traditional storage and transport processing, through packing, repackaging and labelling, to the handling of hazardous materials.

The storage capacity is approx. 38000 high shelf storage pallet locations, as well as a warehouse for hazardous materials, a temperature-controlled warehouse and large block storage areas. By installing PROLAG®World, a customer and branch independent warehouse management system is made available. The second development stage includes the implementation of a forklift routing system with radio-controlled scanners and the set-up of interfaces to customer systems (e.g. EDI).

Incoming goods are processed at the mobile I-point by scanning the SSCC. This allows traceability of batches, as well as the efficient handling of large quantities of incoming goods - an important point, as a Betz customer is planning to double its capacity handled by Betz.

transport logistic 2009

A constant stream of visitors and keen interest in topical issues such as data separation, hazardous materials and supplier interfaces contributed to an overall successful trade fair appearance for CIM GmbH.

Trade visitors were especially interested in the module “Site and owner administration”. The numerous enquiries indicate an increasing demand for the possibility to maintain several owners or logistics centres at various sites. PROLAG®World, the warehouse management system developed by CIM GmbH, allows strict data separation within the system, resulting in cost reductions.

The altered legal regulations for the transport and storage of hazardous materials were also of great interest to the exhibition visitors. All specifications, from the hazardous material classes and categories, to the factors used in the calculation of shipment quantities, are included in the PROLAG®World standard system.

“In addition to these topics, many visitors were interested in the web capability and modular design of PROLAG®World. This innovative solution, programmed in JAVA, together with consistent enhancements and customisations, has yet again impressed the Munich trade fair visitors,” concluded Fritz Mayr, managing director of CIM GmbH, positively.
