Logistics/Special features
Supply of four different types of cable sets to Opel production line. Forklifts at goods receipt, goods are picked using buggies with trailers holding up to 20 cable sets. The storage location, cable label and trailer compartment are scanned. The system guides warehouse workers on optimised tours to increase the efficiency of storage, replenishment and retrieval. Unscheduled deliveries are stored by scanning the supplier VDA label. A storage location is sought and several containers are scanned and taken by forklift to that location. The picking zones are replenished from the high-shelf storage areas or from the buffer stores; replenishment orders are created/deleted automatically in the high-shelf-storage area. The production line is supplied with four different types of cable under consideration of a time-critical sequence - 20 identical cables are loaded onto a trailer and taken to production. Stock levels are monitored to allow planning two to three days in advance, taking into account any open orders, articles for which a minimum stock level has been set, reserve levels and the minimum retrieval quantity.
