Goods that have been packed at the packing are transported in packing units to the dispatch area, where the user scans or selects a gate with their mobile device. Once a transport vehicle has been scanned, the user can start the loading process. Settings can be made in PROLAG®World to determine whether there are loading regulations to be checked prior to loading and a report created. If so, this is done on the user’s mobile device. A supplier evaluation can be performed after loading. The user has to close the transport vehicle to complete the loading process in PROLAG®World.
The loading process functions as an extension of the Dock and Yard Management module. The host system sends the complete dock occupancy dataset, including the exact assignments in terms of which shipments belong to which dock. Once the data has been transmitted, it appears as an entry in the graphical dock occupancy overview in PROLAG®World. Users in the loading area work with tablets connected to a WiFi network.
After choosing the menu item for loading, the user scans the gate using the tablet and is shown a time window for loading. Next they scan the transport vehicle. After the check notification regarding the loading regulations, the user can start loading. In the loading template, PROLAG®World shows the loading sequence determined when the dock was assigned. Additional information is also provided such as packing unit number, weight, load unit type and staging zone of the shipping unit. Once loading is finished, the user is requested to perform a supplier evaluation – the loading process cannot be officially completed until this has been done. The user closes the transport vehicle – usually a container or truck – they can take a photo which is saved to the PROLAG®World freight list, and then collect the shipping documents from the office. For container loading, the user has to fill in a loading inspection checklist. If the container is sealed, PROLAG®World prompts a seal inspection.
